Collider: Alan Ritchson’s R-Rated ‘War Machine’ Follow-Up Officially Premieres in 1 Day

Kids from the ’90s have grown up seeing Alan Ritchson in supporting roles most of the time. Looking back at them now, it feels almost impossible to know how Bruce from Fired Up! could end up becoming a better Jack Reacher than Tom Cruise’s take on the character. And ever since Reacher, it has been an upward spiral for Ritchson. Recently, it was Netflix’s War Machine where Ritchson’s character almost felt like it was the origin story of Reacher himself. Up next, things are looking just as intense for Ritchson, and his latest film is all set to hit theaters.

The trailer shows Ritchson in his usual habitat, looking like a tank but cozying up next to his love interest in the film, played by Shailene Woodley (The Fault in Our Stars). But it’s again back to pure adrenaline mode from then onward. There’s a raid on the house by some law enforcement agency and Ritchson is back in his pure attack mode energy while unleashing chaos on the streets. The official synopsis of the film states that the film is set in the 1970s’ Detroit and “John Miller falls for a local gangster’s girl. In retaliation, the gangster enacts a frame job to send the innocent man to prison. Life ruined, Miller plots a revenge campaign against the man who took his girl away.”
